Creating 3-Minute Miracles in your life
You may have just 3 minutes to get ready for work, glam it up
for that evening cocktail party or romantic date, or step out in
style after spending hours in a plane. Sounds like an impossible
mission? Here are some tips on creating 3–Minute Miracles in
everyday life by award–winning hairstylist Andy
Uffels, celebrity makeup artist Andy Lee and fashion
director Daniel Boey.
Andy Uffels began his career in hairdressing at
age 19, and within 3 years his exceptional styling skills had
already won him the title of World Champion — the youngest ever. He
currently works as an international freelance stylist for big names
including Christian Dior, Gucci and Givenchy to name a few.
Andy Lee has over 20 years of experience in the
makeup world. In that time, he has worked with beauty experts in
London, Paris, Japan and Hong Kong. Having worked with the region's
most popular celebrities, magazines and awards organizations, he
was named Most Popular Makeup Artist by Her World Singapore in
2002.
Daniel Boey has over 15 years in the fashion and
lifestyle industry, having made his name synonymous with creative
show choreography and is one of the sought–after show producers in
Asia. His extensive international portfolio ranges from fashion
styling to creative events consultancy for brands such as Armani,
Celine, Lanvin and Ferragamo to name a few.

Andy Uffels Low side
partings were seen all over the Autumn/Winter catwalks and are a
great way of adding interest and a touch of sophistication to a
simple style like a low–ponytail. It works well on a slicked back
short hairstyle too. This style is very practical for a busy day,
but make sure you keep the finish smooth and shiny.
Andy Lee As a
professional, it's important to look your best so never go to work
bare–faced! Even if you only have 3 minutes, remember the golden
rule of applying foundation, mascara and lipstick. After cleansing,
apply a tinted moisturizer with UV protection. Next, apply mascara
to enhance the eyes and brighten up the face by adding a quick dash
of lip color. The last two steps can make a difference — so if
necessary, maximize the time spent travelling in a taxi to do
these.
Daniel Boey If you have maintained the basic manicure / pedicure / moisturise / condition routine, all you need is to apply some mascara and lipstick to create that 3–Minute Miracle. Add a dash of eyeshadow and a hint of blush if there's time. And it helps to lay out your outfit the night before (including shoes!). Often people get confused with their choices when in a hurry, which will slow them down even more!

Andy Uffels If you usually wear your hair up at work, then it's nice to literally let it down after work. Loosen up and show off how great you look with your hair down. Healthy hair keeps its fresh look longer than dried–out damaged hair, so if you want to look your best all day long, you should focus on getting it in great condition.
Andy Lee Use a blotter sheet to remove excess oil from the face, before touching up with loose/compact powder. Select a lipstick — this can be a brighter, bolder shade to make your features stand out.
Daniel Boey Pick a dark–coloured dress (such as a classic shift) that works well for the evening, and simply add on a jacket for work. Remember your silhouettes too; a slim, pencil silhouette works well both ways, but a flared skirt may be too frou–frou for work. Adding a few key pieces of accessories, such as a dramatic necklace, bracelet brooch, can help you make a statement in the evening.

Andy Uffels If you're out to seduce, keep your hair simple and sexy. Simple, wavy, shiny hair is the most touchable and therefore the most attractive. For a modern wave, take a curling iron and wrap each section gently round the barrel from the top down — concentrating on the middle lengths of the hair.
Andy Lee Impressions count when you're on a dinner date, so grooming should never be neglected. Apply some mascara, put on some lipstick and lastly, don't forget that a warm smile is the best finishing touch for any look.
Daniel Boey Switch your day bag for a nice clutch, and remember the golden rule of no hats for dinner — it's bad etiquette to wear a hat in a fine restaurant.

Andy Uffels Prepare your hair by using lots of conditioner to boost moisture before your trip. Don't bother tying your hair up before travelling, it will only get disheveled, so wait until you land to sleek it back into a chignon. To counter static, you can spritz it with water or smooth through a pea–sized amount of conditioner.
Andy Lee To get your skin ready for that important meeting, the first step is to use a moisture spray to freshen and hydrate the skin. Apply some loose/compact powder before adding mascara and lipstick, and you'll be ready to make an impression!
Daniel Boey If your hair is well conditioned, running a simple comb through it should neaten it. Failing which, tie it into a neat bun or ponytail. Spritz your face to refresh it, before adding clear mascara and lipstick.
Men are often guilty of looking real dappy when they board, and walking off looking like a disaster. One simple trick to look good after stepping out of a plane is to wear an outfit that doesn’t crease.
